Pairing a SBC to Office 365


This page details the steps required to pair a supported Session Border Controller (SBC) to Direct Routing.

Step 1 - Connect to Office 365



Import-Module SkypeOnlineConnector
$Credential = Get-Credential
$Session = New-CsOnlineSession -Credential $Credential
Import-PSSession -Session $session -AllowClobber

Step 2 - Create the PSTN Gateway

New-CsOnlinePSTNGateway -Fqdn "sbc.directrouting.guide" -SipSignallingPort "5067" -MaxConcurrentSessions "10" -ForwardCallHistory $true -ForwardPAI $true -Enabled $true

validate the SBC Pairing


Get-csOnlinePSTNGateway -Fqdn "sbc.directrouting.guide"

validate with syslog

To validate the pairing refer to the Syslog logs and confirm that the SBC receives a 200ok response to the outgoing OPTIONS message.

Step 3 - Create the PSTN Usage


create the PSTN Usage


Set-CsOnlinePstnUsage  -Identity Global -Usage @{Add="Australia"}

Step 4 - Create the Online Voice Route


New-CsOnlineVoiceRoute -Identity "Australia" -NumberPattern ".*" -OnlinePstnGatewayList "sbc.directrouting.guide" -Priority 1 -OnlinePstnUsages "Australia"

Step 5 - Create the Online Voice Routing Policy


New-CsOnlineVoiceRoutingPolicy -identity "Australia" -OnlinePstnUsages "Australia"
